     When choosing fresh ginger make sure the root is firm, smooth and free of mold. If only dried ginger is available choose organic if possible.

  • A traditional medicine for gastrointestinal problems, modern research is finding ginger to have excellent anti-nausea, anti-oxidant, anti-inflamatory and cancer fighting properties.
  • Motion sickness symptoms, especially seasickness, can be treated with ginger more effectively than by some drugs.
  • Ginger has been shown to be a safe and effective way to relieve pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting.
  • Studies have shown gingerols, active phytonutrients in ginger, to be effective in fighting arthritis, inflammation, swelling and pain.
  • Ginger has been shown to protect against free radical damage to tissue caused by radiation exposure and reduced the production of pro-inflammatory compounds (precursors to inflammation).
  • A study with mice has shown ginger inhibits the growth of colorectal cancer cells.
  • Gingerol has been shown to kill ovarian cancer cells.
